"It Takes A Community To Grow A Child"
The SPLASH Community Arts programme connects diverse communities, offering inclusive arts opportunities for children, young people, and families.
The SPLASH Arts is a community programme dedicated to fostering unity and inclusivity through arts initiatives for children, young people, and families. Its primary focus is on building bridges between different age groups and ethnic communities, promoting understanding and collaboration through shared creative experiences. The programme operates across all estates in Blackwall, ensuring accessibility and engagement for a diverse population.
A key component of the SPLASH Community Arts programme is its innovative approach to supporting children with special needs. By offering tailored arts activities, it ensures that all children, regardless of ability, can engage in and benefit from creative expression. The programme also works closely with the SPLASH Children and Young People’s programme (Youth programme) and the SPLASH Community Development programme, creating a comprehensive and holistic network of support for individuals and families in the area. Through this collaborative approach, SPLASH empowers communities and encourages positive social change.
Art plays a vital role in community development by fostering social cohesion, cultural expression, and inclusivity. It provides a platform for diverse voices, allowing individuals from different backgrounds to connect and share their experiences. Public art projects, workshops, and performances create shared spaces where people can collaborate, strengthening community bonds and encouraging civic engagement.
Our project, the SPLASH Arts, brings people together through creativity, fostering connections across generations and cultures. By offering inclusive arts opportunities, we ensure that every child, young person, and family—regardless of background or ability—feels valued and heard. Our innovative programme for children with special needs provides tailored creative experiences, empowering them through self-expression. Working across all estates in Blackwall, we collaborate with the SPLASH Children and Young People’s programme and the SPLASH Community Development programme, creating a strong, supportive network. Through the power of art, we inspire unity, celebrate diversity, and strengthen our community.
